Subject: Evolution in Action - Challenge for Creationists

Just read in the latest Discover magazine (highly recommended, lots
of evolutionary science goodies this month :-) ) about a recent discovery
which adds another nice vindication of the way evolutionary science works.
In the 70's, DNA analysis of some of the species in the Galapagos Islands
chain indicated that they had been evolving in isolation for approx, 10
million years.  The oldest islands in the chain only date to 3 MY, however.
Recently, underwater evidence was discovered that indicates that the chain
had additional islands 10 MY ago, which have since eroded/collapsed.  A
prediction was made (that older land masses would need to exist for the
DNA analysis to be correct) and sure enough, they were discovered.  How
does creationism (or for that matter, Ted, catastrophism) explain these
events?
