Some highlights of "Incredible Discovery of Noah's Ark", which aired
on CBS last saturday.
Water was held in subterranean chambers 10 miles underground.
(They did not say how it got there). Cracks developed and
enormous pressure of 10 miles of rock forced the water upwards.
Evidence for this rupture is still there in the form of the
"ring of fire" which girds the earth.
Water ejected at supersonic speed near the surface causing
erosion of the surrounding rocks. It also caused the motion
of the continental plates which reached the speeds of 45 mph.
The moving plates collided and buckled, thereby forming mountains
and valleys. The depressions on the surface were filled with
water. A satellite photograph of the Northwest US clearly shows
this. Some water which reached upper layers of the
atmosphere condensed and fell back to earth as snow and ice.
The resulting flow of water carved out deep canyons like the
Grand Canyon.
This also explains:
- evidence for ice age
- mountain formation
- sedimentary deposits
There were animations showing a crack travelling to the surface,
the resulting jet of water and the receding plates, their collisions
and formation of mountains and vallyes (sic).
