The cure for cults that want to deny others their freedom of speech is more freedom of speech -- Fredric Rice

Apparently no lie is beyound creationists no matter how easily debunked. The ICR cult claimed that one of The Skeptic Tank's web pages some how belonged to them despite the fact that the web page contains a copyright notice clearly identifying that it belongs to The Skeptic Tank. Later the cult claimed that every text file in a directory on one of my computers that contains criticism of various creationist cults some how belonged to them. After a while the cult eventually got around to listing all of the file names of the directory on my computer, claiming they all some how violate copyright rules -- which was and is a complete lie. The cult claimed they started threatening me some time in March when in fact it was June when the cult sent their first known threat.

The ICR cult didn't send their false allegations to me, however. For some reason they sent it to one of The Skeptic Tank's web site hosts, the one containing one of my copyrighted web pages created by automated software I wrote called MakeHTML. That web host forwarded the cult's groundless allegations to me. The cult's later e-mails seem to indicate that their computer incompetence was what led them to e-mail my host instead of me.

At first, knowing that creationists are on the whole illiterate, liars, and given to profound incompetence, I attempted to assist the cultist with what I had thought was just his or her ignorance about computers and how the Internet worked. As you observe the e-mails exchanged listed from this main index, you'll observe a number of salient points:

• The cultist is vague about what he or she is complaining about and it takes come time to finally pin the cultist down. This is classic creationist behavior when creationists are debunked in public forums.

• The cultist quotes the e-mail messages I sent to him or her and then doctors the quoted text to remove text I wrote to him or her. This is also a phenomena the educated observe in public forums such as Usenet.

• The tone of the cultist gets ever more irrational, abusive, and threatening as his or her baseless allegations are addressed with polite, professional behavior on my part and the part of my web host -- who has nothing to do whatsoever with the criticism on my organization's computers.

• The complaints the cultist has are quickly evidenced to be about the criticism of creationist cults, not any claims about copyright violations.

• When asked whether the cultist is aware of the Constitution of the United States, the Bill of Rights, freedom of speech, and the Fair Use dictates described in U. S. Code Title 17, he or she dismissed these documents as "ranting."

• The cultist claims that the Internet Infidels and Talk Origins were violating the ICR cult's copyrights also. When I informed the cultist that I would pass that allegation on (and I did) the cultist sent another "last e-mail" retracting that claim.

• Even confirming that the texts contaning the criticism of creationist cults would be examined and ensured to conform to U. S. Code Title 17, that wasn't good enough for the cult -- obviously because copyright had nothing to do with their demands. What they wanted was to silence The Skeptic Tank's Constitutionally guarenteed freedom of speech and right to criticize and expose creationist claptrap.

• Also shown in this series are e-mails I sent and received to various organizations to see if I could track down why the ICR cult is still claiming they're some how "accredited." In this series you'll see that the State of California made these cultists stop claiming they were accredited, forcing the cult to get recognized by what appears to be a Christian cult diploma mill of some kind called "TRACS." If you visit the TRACS web site, you'll see that such recognition is at best equal to recognizing the existance of rocks: it's meaningless.
