among fundamentalists is a keen sense of individualism, and individualists
are often fundamentalists because of this trait. There is self-selection.
They strongly resist the "herding" that characterizes other major
denominations such as the Catholic Church.  It is very difficult to organize
two or three local fundamentalist churches......
