ANTI-ABORTION LANGUAGE INVESTIGATED

The Justice Department will review statements and publications
that seem to encourage violence against abortion clinics and
doctors, according to a statement released Tuesday, January 17.
In the statement, Attorney General Janet Reno said,

     "We intend to vigorously and thoroughly investigate all such
     cases. . . . We call upon church groups, religious figures
     and leaders of the anti-abortion movement to seek an end to
     threatening language that promotes the taking of life. Those
     who directly preach murder and violence can expect to be the
     subject of law enforcement activity."
