³CONSTRUCTION WORK UNEARTHS THREE 6,500-YEAR-OLD DUGOUT BOATS³

³PARIS (OCT. 8) DPA - Three 6,500-year-old dugout boats have ³
³been discovered at Bercy in the Seine river in eastern      ³
³Paris, mayor Jacques Chirac said Tuesday.                   ³
³                                                            ³
³He said the boats were found during construction work one   ³
³month ago at a depth of twelve metres and are believed to be³
³the oldest such vessels found in Europe so far.             ³
³                                                            ³
³The largest of the boats is five metres long and well       ³
³preserved. All three boats will be sent to Denmark for      ³
³preservation work, the mayor said.                          ³
