Merry Meat Echo Policy Statement (MEAT_POL.TXT) Starwyn - Mediatrix Spring Equinox 1992 Welcome to Merry Meat! This is an adult-oriented pagan forum for discussion of all aspects of creative sexuality. This area gives some basic information about our topics and policies. SUBJECTS Topics generally center around, but are not limited to, the areas of sexuality and sensuality, often in relationship to the spiritual beliefs of those in alternate pagan religions. This makes possible a wide range of discussions, on such subjects as gender identity, alternate lifestyles and practices, the role of sexuality in ritual and spiritual pursuits, relationship dynamics, sexual techniques, safesex, self-esteem, body image, and so on. This is also a forum for erotic fiction and poetry, preferably original work. ATTITUDES There are many characteristics which set Pagan sexuality apart from the mundane experience. One of the most important is an acceptance and openmindedness toward other beliefs, practices and preferences. Another is a belief that sexuality is more than just a human pursuit; that it can be an avenue of enlightenment and worship and an expression of higher spirituality. One also finds in Pagan sexuality a general attitude of sensitivity and chivalry toward others. You'll find these ideas in abundance on Merry Meat. Here are some things you _won't_ find: -sexist, racist, ageist or other prejudicial attitudes -dismissal of certain people based on physical characteristics -"flame wars" -rude, boorish or abusive behaviors -exploitation of people, ideas or stereotypes -unethical topics First Offense= Warning Second Offense= Sysop asked to drop offensive user (or Sysop's feed cut if he/she will not comply) Third Offense= Sysop's Feed is cut. Another important thing to remember is that much of the information discussed on Merry Meat is personal or confidential and should be treated with the appropriate sensitivity and discretion. FICTION AND POETRY We prefer to see original work, although a well-timed quote from another author has its occasional place. Ideally, the works posted on Merry Meat will reflect the exceptional creativity and artistry which sets Pagan sexuality apart from the norm. Amateur writers are more than welcome, and everyone is encouraged to try his or her hand (ahem) at a story, ritual or poem. Any preference or practice is acceptable, so long as it reflects the playful and openminded sensuality of the echo in general. Soooo, welcome aboard! And, as the saying goes, dive on in; the water's fine! Blessed buns, Starwyn (mediatrix of Merry Meat)
