SEVENTEEN  suspected  members of a Satanist child-sex ring  have  been 
released by police.

But, as they were released on bail, Liverpool CID officers who mounted 
the massive Operation Clemantine probe warned them that investigations 
will continue.

The  men  and women - including company directors and  preachers  from 
breakaway  church groups - were arrested in dawn swoops on  Merseyside 
last Tuesday.

The  six-month  investigation  was launched after two  girls  told  of 
devil-worshipping and child-sex sessions among upper-crust families.

Claims of sex abuse against children aged between six and 16 were also 
made.
