   FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) -- Terrorism in America has shifted from
left  wing  activity  in  the  1960s  to  the  extreme right wing
movement, former U.S. Attorney Asa Hutchinson of Fort Smith  said
Thursday.

   Hutchison  said in a speech to the Sebastian County Republican
Women that members of some right-wing extremist groups have  been
indicted  in federal court in Fort Smith for sedition as domestic
terrorists.

   Those indicted are members of the Covenant, the Sword and  the
Arm of the Lord, The Order, Ku Klux Klan, Aryan Nations and Posse
Comitatus.

   Terrorism  is  defined  as  any act of violence on a person or
property done by people with political motives, Hutchinson  said.
Most of the people under indictment, and many of their followers,
accuse the government of persecuting them for their religious and
political beliefs.    Hutchinson  said the members of such groups
are not being prosecuted for political reasons,  but  because  of
their violence.
