Subject: Crack Reporting of CIA by _[Freedom] Times_

     Today a seeming insert into the Scientologists' _FREEDOM
     Magazine_, known as the _Los Angeles [Freedom] Times_ wrote
     "2,000 Protest alleged U.S. Role in Crack Influx."
     
     The author, _[Freedom] Times_ staff writer Rich Connell
     expressed the continuing _[Freedom] Times_ skepticism that
     this is nothing more than a conspiracy theory, by saying,
     "Some critics have taken issue with the _Mercury News_
     series, saying that it fell short of providing its
     incendiary central thesis."
     
     Though the _[Freedom] Times_' Connell, does not identify who
     these critics might be; I suspect that it may be the
     Investigative News department of the _[Freedom] Times_ run
     by Editor Joel Sappell.  This investigative department was
     busy during the time the San Jose Mercury News broke the
     CIA/Contra drug pushing-genocide series, persecuting
     psychiatrists--medical doctors--who unwittingly over-
     prescribed prescription drugs to former Scientologist movie
     producer, Don Simpson:  in true _Freedom Magazine_ form.
     
     Sappell: Pay no attention to that man pulling the levers
     behind the curtain.
     
     The history of the _Los Angeles [Freedom] Times_ is this: 
     They report 25% of what they know, and use the other 75% to
     wedge themselves in a position of power and influence in a
     quasi-extortion-like power play--while sacrificing the
     interests of the people who live in this community.
     
     _[Freedom] Times_ reporter Connell described a rally of
     2,000 people yesterday, in which Brotherhood Crusade leader
     Danny Bakewell said, "' Your [government] gave them this
     dope to commit the crimes you want to punish them for. We
     want [those responsible] prosecuted, and we want them to go
     to jail.'"
     
     Rich Connell continued:  "Who 'they' are, and whether the
     CIA directed or knew of drug sales, remains an open question
     ...."
     
     The _Los Angeles [Freedom] Times_ would have us believe that
     the CIA--the government intelligence agency that knows
     exactly how many gnats are on every camels ass in the whole
     country of Iraq; would somehow be surprised to learn where
     the millions of dollars that bought the weapons that the CIA
     themselves, shipped to the Contra rebels for their illegal
     war against "communists."
     
     "They" would the Director(s) of the CIA, and Marine Colonel
     Oliver North, who ran the operation from the White House.
     
     According to a former DEA Agent working in El Salvador, the
     DEA agent gave logs of drug shipments to the DEA when
     the CIA planes carrying weapons to El Salvador's Ilopango Air
     Base, turned around, loaded with drugs going to the United
     States in planes flown by CIA pilots.
     
     According to the DEA agent, who recently came forward to
     tell his story, when he pressed his DEA superiors for an
     explanation of the drug flights to the U.S., the DEA
     responded that the flights where approved by the White
     House.
     
     Mr. Connell, "they" would be Ronald Reagan.  He was in
     charge of the White House.
     
     "They," would also be Former President George Bush, for he
     had knowledge of North's activities.
     
     So, _Los Angeles [Freedom] Times_, "THEY"--that the 
     black folks talk about--really do have names:  Ronald
     Reagan, Oliver North, and George Bush.  "They" were in
     charge.
     
     I suspect, some influence peddlers at a major Los Angeles
     newspaper--that local citizens can't depend on; might be
     considered "they" too.
     
     THE SILENCE OF THE CLAMS:
     
     The Scientologists, known for their belief that they are
     descendants of clams; *used* to expose government
     corruption, was very anti-drug, anti-CIA, anti-Interpol,
     anti-government.  One un-indicted co-conspirator in the
     break- ins, wiretaps and burglaries of more than 100
     government offices in the United States and Canada, believes
     that Don Tyson of Tyson Foods--a major financier of
     President Clinton's presidental campaign--supplements his
     income with 'dope sales.'
     
     In October 1993, the United States Department of Justice Tax
     Division negotiated a secret, and hidden from public
     inspection--thus illegal--a tax exemption for 30 Scientology
     organizations that includes a luxury cruise ship company. 
     Thereafter, Scientology head David Miscavige met personally
     with Interpol Secretary General R. M. Kendall, and convinced
     the former perceived enemy--Interpol (that bestowed honors
     of drug pusher Manuel Noriega), to expunge negative
     information on Scientology from its files, and mail to all
     Interpol Cental Bureaus worldwide, Scientology's propaganda
     to correct the "false data."  News of the secret, illegal,
     tax-dollar giveaway to the Scientology cult was also sent
     along to the Interpol Central Bureaus, letting the Bureaus
     know of the "cave-in" of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.
     
     It seems to me that the government of the United States had
     something to hide--that the Scientologists were capable of
     exposing--in order for this chain of very beneficial events
     to befall the cult of Scientology, that TIME Magazine
     called, "... a criminal organization day in and day out... a
     global racket."  [Cover story May 6, 1991]
