To those of you following the Moerner matter in Sweden . . . 

It now appears evident that Professor Moerner of Stockholm University
is determined to weasel out of accepting my challenge.  Why am I not
surprised?  Furthermore, I'm told that he has no credentials in
physics, as I'd previously thought, though he is a geologist.  His
claim to being a geophysicist is not supported.

Moerner is not taken seriously by other scientists, and since he will
not accept my simple offer to pay him US$1,094,000 for doing a simple
demonstration of what he says he does every day with ease, I don' t
take him seriously, either.  Let him blather away to those who are
naive enough to listen; I have no more time for an egotist with
nothing but a degree and a nasty attitude.  I was prepared to treat
him as a gentleman, but he has rejected a direct, polite approach and
has responded with rude, uninformed, and unproductive accusations and
lame excuses.
