(4:ALAN JENNINGS) The Celebration of Marriage of Becky Edwards and
                     Chris Ford...
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Saturday December 1, 1990
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) CompuChurch (tm) #1007 -- Datalink
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) If it were possible to begin this ceremony by
gathering together all our wishes of happiness for
Becky and Chris from all present here...

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) If we could gather together those precious wishes
of affection and turn them into music...
we would be listening now to a most inspiring
anthem where it would be composed of the most
                     harmonious notes possible to produce...

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Even though this is not possible, just speaking of
it should assure Becky and Chris that our hearts
                     are attuned to theirs...
for "what greater thing is there for two souls than
to feel that they are joined together to strengthen
                     each other in all labor...
to minister to each other in all sorrow...
and to share with each other in all gladness..."

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Marriage is an act of faith, and a personal
commitment as well as a moral and physical union
between the parties. Marriage has been described as
the best, most meaningful relationship that can
                     exist between two human beings...
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) The construction of their love and trust into a
single growing energy of spiritual life...
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) It is a moral commitment that requires and deserves
daily attention since no earthly happiness exceeds
that of reciprocal satisfaction in the conjugal
                     state...
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Marriage should be a lifelong consecration to the
ideal of loving kindness backed by the will to make
                     it last. ...
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) We read in The Prophet:
True love gives nothing but itself
And takes nothing but from itself...
                     Love does not possess,
                     nor would it be possessed
For love is sufficient unto love...
Love has no desire but to fulfill itself
To awake at dawn with awinged heart
and give thanks for another day of loving...
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) To rest at noon and meditate love's ecstacy...
To return home at eventide with gratitude
And then to sleep with a prayer for your beloved in
                     your heart
And a song of praise upon your lips...

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Chris, will you take Becky to be your wedded wife,
to love, to cherish, and to continually bestow upon
                     her your hearts deepest devotion?

(2:CHRISTOPHER FORD) I will.

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) And Becky, will you take Chris to be your wedded
husband, to love, to cherish, and to continually
bestow upon him your heart's deepest devotion?

(1:BECKY EDWARDS) I will.

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Chris, repeat after me... "Becky, you are
                     consecrated to me now as my wife this day forward;
to love and to cherish, to have and to hold...

(2:CHRISTOPHER FORD) Becky, you are consecrated to me now as my wife
this day forward; to love and to cherish, to have
                     and to hold...

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) ...for richer , for poorer, for better for worse,
in sickness and in health, in sadness and in
                     joy,...

(2:CHRISTOPHER FORD) ...for richer, for poorer, for better for worse, in
sickness in health, and in joy..
(2:CHRISTOPHER FORD) oops..in saddness
(2:CHRISTOPHER FORD) One 'D'

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) ... to care and share together as long as we both
                     shall live.

(2:CHRISTOPHER FORD) ... to care and share together as long as we both
                     shall live.

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Now Becky, repeat after me...
Chris, you are consecrated to me now as my husband
                     this day forward

(1:BECKY EDWARDS) Chris, you are consecrated to me now as my husband
                     this day forward

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) ...to love and to cherish, to have and to hold...

(1:BECKY EDWARDS) to love and to cherish, to have and to hold

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) ...for richer, for poorer, for better, for worse

(1:BECKY EDWARDS) for richer, for poorer, for better, for worse

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) ...in sickness and in health, in sadness and in joy,

(1:BECKY EDWARDS) in sickness and in health, in sadness and in joy,

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) to care and share together as long as we both shall live.

(1:BECKY EDWARDS) to care and share together as long as we both shall live.

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) What tokens of devotion do you offer your beloved?
                     (get the rings)

(2:CHRISTOPHER FORD) Got 'em

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) May these rings be blessed as the symbol of this
                     affectionate unity...

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) These two lives are now joined in one unbroken circle.
Wherever they go, may they always return to one another
                     in their togetherness...
May these two find in each other the love for which all
                     men and women yearn...
May they grow in understanding and in compassion...
May the home they establish together be such a place of
sanctuary that many will find there a friend...

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) May these rings on their fingers symbolize the
touch of the spirit of love in the heart...

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Chris, in placing the ring on Becky's finger, repeat
                     after me...
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Becky, I give you this ring as the pledge of my love and
                     the symbol of our unity.

(2:CHRISTOPHER FORD) Becky, I give you this ring as a pledge of my love and
                     the symbol of our unity.

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Now Becky, in placing the ring on Chris' finger, repeat
                     after me...
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Chris, I give you this ring as the pledge of my love and
the symbol of a our unity.

(1:BECKY EDWARDS) Chris, I give you this ring as the pledge of my love and
                     the symbol of our unity.

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Inasmuch as Becky and Chris have consented together in
                     marriage before this company..
have pledged their faith and declared their unity by each
                     giving and receiving a ring...
and are now joined in mutual esteem and devotion..
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) I, by the authority vested in me by the laws of the
State of Louisiana, and as the pastor of CompuChurch...
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Do now pronounce that they are husband and wife
                     together...
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) And offer them these words:
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Now you will feel no rain
For each of you will be shelter to the other...
Now you will feel no cold
For each of you will be warmth to the other...
Now there is no more loneliness for you
Now there is no more loneliness...
Now, you are two bodies, but there is only one life
                     before you...
(4:ALAN JENNINGS) Go now, to your dwelling place
To enter into the days of your togetherness...
And may those days be long upon the earth

(4:ALAN JENNINGS) And this benediction:
May the Lord bless you and keep you...
The Lord make His Face to shine upon you...
                     And be gracious unto you...
The Lord lift up His Countenance upon you...
                     And give you peace...
