Immunizations

While you can't be certain your child will never be exposed to the bacteria and viruses that cause common childhood illnesses, you can minimize your childs risk by having her receive regularly scheduled immunizations and by having her maintain a healthy diet and get adequate rest.
Generally, pediatricians recommend that children should maintain the following routine schedule of immunizations:

Age 2 months- DTP #1- Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), OPV #1- Oral Polio Vaccine, HIB #1- Haemophilus Influenza Type B (Meningitis), HBV #2- Hepatitis B Vaccine.

Age 4 months- DTP #2, OPV #2, HIB #2.

Age 6 months- DTP #3, HIB #3.

Age 9 months- HBV #3.

Age 12 months- TB Skin Test, Chicken Pox Vaccine.

Age 15 months- MMR #1- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (German Measles), HIB #4.

Age 18 months- DTP #4, OPV #3.

Age 5 years- DTP #5, OPV #4.

Age 12 years- MMR #2.

Age 15 years- Tetanus Booster.
