Whatever the outcome, horoscopes suggest something mysterious is going to happen on election day, said Roy Gillett, chairman of the Astrological Association of Great Britain. "The general feeling among astrologers is what is obvious to the rest of the country," Gillet said Monday. "The general picture on all the charts is that Labor should win, but it also looks like something weird or strange or mysterious is going to happen on polling day." Clairvoyants disagree. Craig Hamilton-Parker, resident psychic on a British breakfast television program, says Prime Minister John Major will snatch a surprise victory. "Myself and many other psychics who I meet -- because I meet a lot -- are all saying the Conservatives are going to win," he said. "If we're wrong I'll eat my hat. In fact, I'll eat my crystal ball." Hamilton-Parker said he had asked the spirit world who would win the election. The reply, in the form of ghostly taps on a table-top, was clear -- "It's going to be neck and neck, one of the most exciting elections we've had for years. But Major will win it, that's what the spirit world is saying." Tarot cards, the Chinese I-Ching oracle and psychic meditation all gave the same answer, Hamilton-Parker said. "What intrigues me is that so many psychics are saying the same thing," he said. "Either the opinion polls are wrong, or our psychic opinion polls are really up the spout." Gillett, however, says his astrological predictions for the election campaign have been accurate so far, and he is sticking with his forecast of a Labor win. "I did a prediction when the election date was announced. You could see from the charts that it was going to be a very virulent and confrontational election," he said. "Things have gone pretty much as I expected." A birth chart for Major showed him gaining ground during the campaign but tailing off toward polling day, Gillett said. Horoscopes for Labor leader Tony Blair, meanwhile, showed him having a difficult campaign but emerging triumphant. Charts for polling day suggest "a strange confusion," Gillett said. "Astrologers are still scratching their heads over this one, saying the chart looks confusing," Gillett said. He said it could portend a shock result or disruption of polling day by guerrilla attacks. If Major can gain little solace from the stars, he can seek reassurance in chocolate. British confectionary company Thorntons Plc has produced chocolate lollipops with the faces of Britain's party leaders. The Major lollipop is well ahead in sales, with Blair trailing in second place, a spokeswoman said. --- msgedsq 2.0.5 * Origin: Let the love of truth shine clear (1:2430/2112) SEEN-BY: 12/12 24/888 102/2 106/2000 109/7 124/1 130/1 1008 133/2 140/23 SEEN-BY: 143/1 147/34 2021 154/222 167/166 170/400 202/777 1207 1919 SEEN-BY: 213/213 218/2 801 890 900 901 907 244/1500 267/200 270/101 275/429 SEEN-BY: 280/1 169 282/1 62 310/666 323/107 343/600 346/250 356/18 371/42 SEEN-BY: 377/86 380/64 382/92 396/1 45 690/660 730/2 732/10 2401/0 2442/0 SEEN-BY: 3603/420 3606/10 3612/41 3615/50 3619/25 3632/21 3651/9 3652/1 SEEN-BY: 3667/1 3674/1 3828/2 5100/8 @PATH: 2430/1 1423 270/101 396/1 218/907 801
