In case you didn't know, yesterday was anniversary of the day Elvis was found face down on the bathroom floor. I'm sure you can imagine the "festivities" that went on around town last night. We've got a television in the break room at work. A few of us were in there last night, bullshitting and watching the news. Not surprisingly, most of the coverage was about the Elvisfreaks. A reporter was interviewing one Elvis impersonator who claimed to have been "called" to be an impersonator by a spirit from his TV. One of the fundies I work with immediately started ranting about how ludicrous that was. "If he was called by a spirit to be a preacher, though, everything would make perfect sense, right?" I ask. "b-b-b-b-but, that's *different*!" He replies. People are idiots. --- * Origin: John Brawley's Quantum Bait Shop, No. 7 (1:123/67.7)
