As far as I know it's of RCC construction.  The RCC embellished biblical
beliefs to come up with the Seven Capital (deadly) Sins:  pride, covetousness,
lust, anger, gluttony, envy, sloth.

The RCC also has two other cool series of sin.

Sins That Cry to Heaven for Vengeance: Willful murder, sins against nature,
oppression of the poor, widows and orphans, defrauding laborers of their wages.

Sins Against the Holy Spirit: Despair of salvation, presumption of God's mercy,
impugning the known truths of faith, envy at another's spiritual good,
obstinancy in sin, final inpenitence.

Of course, protest ants have that Unpardonable Sin: Blasphemy <g> and all
protestant fundies commit a Sin Against the Holy Spirit daily: presumption of
God's mercy.  Hehe
