AG> Nope. Abraham came close - once. AG> After that - no. I disagree. Don't forget, for example, the episode of the golden calf . . . allegedly, there was human sacrifice going on there, according to several Fundies I've talked to about this. But that isn't all . . . Consider the following intimations of sacrifices in the OT: Judges 11:30-32, 34, 39: YHVH delivers Jepthah's enemies into his hands in exchange for the sacrifice of his daughter. Leviticus 27:28-9: Human beings `devoted' or made sacred to YHVH must be put to death. 2Samuel 21:3-9: YHVH accepts seven sacrifices to stop famine. Deuteronomy 2:33-4: Moses: slaughter women & children captives of war. Exodus 22:28-9: YHVH: All first borns should be sacrificed to YHVH. Ezekiel 20:26: YHVH allows Jews to sacrifice children to horrify them. Numbers 31:31-40: 32 virgins set aside to be sacrificed to YHVH. Granted, not all of these were children, but enough were so that the point gets made. Ezekiel is perhaps the most telling. And I've only include those that are obvious sacrifices, leaving to doubt the 200 foreskins for a king's daughter, or Moses hanging the severed heads up for the glory of YHVH. One should also point out that Jesus himself is, if nothing else, a sacrifice to YHVH.
