On June 29th 1991, AMER president, Chris Carlisle, and board
member, Galena Price, travelled to Lexington Kentucky to address
a group of Wiccans and Mystical Christians at their invitation.

The event was planned and sponsored by the Christians so that all
magical practitioners from the region would have an opportunity
to learn more about AMER first hand, rather than from the rumor
mill. Considering the maggot infested flour that the rumor mill
has been known to grind out concerning AMER, it was nice to have
an opportunity to present the facts.

Unfortunately some of the invited groups refused to participate
because they didn't want to associate with some of the others who
were invited (this included both Wiccan and Christian groups), or
because they disapproved of the fact that AMER doesn't
discriminate against Satanists.

Despite the small attendance, those present felt that the meeting
was worthwhile. Many questions were asked and the attendees were
pleased by the responses given by Chris and Galena.

Both AMER representatives came back to St. Louis feeling very
good about the accomplishments of the trip, and expressed the
importance of AMER taking part in more such outreach efforts in
the future.

Dick Sells, a prominent member of the Chattanooga Tennessee
Wiccan community, was one of the attendees and wrote very
favorable comments in his newsletter, _Royal Oak_, about the
meeting and about AMER and its goals as well. He advised his
readers to keep an open mind about AMER. Let's hope his words
are taken to heart.
