The 24th International Congress of Applied Psychology, sponsored by the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP), will take place at the San Francisco Hilton Hotel and Towers on August 9-14, 1998.

Celebrating the accomplishments of the twentieth century and looking toward anticipated developments in the discipline, the theme of the congress will be "The Challenge for Applied Psychology: Bridging the Millennia." APA will host the Congress, marking the first time this prestigious international meeting will convene in the United States.

The congress will feature a wide array of individual and group presentations on organizational psychology; psychological evaluation and assessment; psychology and national development; educational, instructional, and school psychology; clinical and community psychology; applied gerontology; health psychology; economic psychology; psychology and law; political psychology; sport psychology; traffic and transportation psychology; and other areas such as applied social, applied developmental, human factors and ergonomics, and social issues.

The IAAP congress has been scheduled to immediately precede the 106th Annual Convention of APA, August 14-18, 1998, also in San Francisco, allowing participation at both meetings.
