APA Hosts Reception for Departing SBE Director Cora Marrett
On June 6, the Science Directorate, the Federation of Behavioral, Psychological and Cognitive Sciences, the Consortium of Social Science Associations, and the American Sociological Association held a going away reception for Cora Marrett, PhD, Assistant Director of the National Science Foundation (NSF) for the Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE) Directorate. Dr. Marrett will be leaving NSF in July after serving 5 years as SBE's first Director. She will be returning to the Unviersity of Wisconsin where she is Professor of Sociology and Afro-American Studies and Researcher for the Center for Research of Mathematics and Science Education.
The reception was held in order to thank Dr. Marrett for her hard work in organizing SBE and promoting the behavioral and social sciences within NSF and the wider scientific community. Dr. Marrett's leadership will be missed. Her successor has not yet been announced.
