Science Directorate Welcomes New Staff Members

Kristen Dill

In July, Kristen Dill joined the Science Directorate as Exhibits/Education Specialist for the Traveling Psychology Exhibition (TPE). In this position, Dill will conduct teacher workshops and on-site training for volunteers as TPE travels across the country. She replaces Baiba Sube Lennard who left APA in the spring.

Dill received a BS in Horticulture from Iowa State University in 1992. After graduating, she was Interpretive/Education Specialist at the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, DC, where she gained experience in public programming, exhibit design, teaching, and production of brochures.

Lillie Harmon

Lillie Harmon became Administrative Assistant for Membership and Communications in the Science Directorate in late June. Before coming to Washington this spring, Harmon worked for 5 years as Senior Secretary/Staff Assistant in the Department of Physics at Boston University. In her new position, she is responsible for phone handling, mail routing, database management, and support for Psychological Science Agenda and the Research Psychology Funding Bulletin.

In the near future, Harmon plans to pursue a BA in business management.

Heather E. Roberts, PhD

Heather E. Roberts, PhD, joined the Science Directorate in July as Testing and Assessment Officer for Science. Previously, Dr. Roberts worked for the U. S. Air Force Armstrong Laboratory, where she focused on testing and selection issues for the Human Resources Directorate. In addition, she has served as a consultant for several organizations, including Baltimore Gas & Electric, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maryland, and McCormick & Company, Inc. Dr. Roberts received her PhD in industrial and organizational psychology from Virginia Tech in 1995.

As Testing and Assessment Officer, Dr. Roberts will be an APA staff liaison to the Committee on Psychological Tests and Assessment and the Joint Committee on Testing Practices. She will also represent the Science Directorate on national policy and legislation issues affecting testing and assessment in education, employment, and clinical settings.

Sandra J. Robinson

Sandra J. Robinson, a former Customer Service Representative in the APA Membership Office, joined the Science Directorate this spring as Administrative Assistant for Testing and Assessment. Her primary responsibilities include responding to testing inquiries from both psychologists and the general public and providing support to Dianne Brown, Dianne Schneider, and Heather Roberts, PhD.

Robinson received a BS in Psychology from West Liberty State College in West Virginia in 1991, and she plans to continue her education in computer information systems.
