INTRODUCTION

What is First Watch BBS Net Work?

FWBNW is an organization for operational Sysops around
the United States which watches, reports, and records
information on First Amendment violations. This in-
cludes anything from newspapers in which a person is
arrested, hassled or attacked for their Opinions, Reli-
gious Practices, Sexual Preference, Creed, Sex, Age,
Color and/or Race, and Disability or Handicap. Many
times these infractions go unnoticed by the general
public and each time someone's rights are violated,
then so are yours and mine.

     Why FWBNW?
Every year Americans loose part of their rights, and if
it is not stopped, then soon no rights will be left.
The biggest problem we have is not that people's
rights are violated, but that we never know about it.
FWBNW is here to help close that gap by recording in-
formation, storing it, and allowing access to it. It
is our hope that more people will learn about what is
happening to their rights and how they can make a dif-
          ference.

Who can be a Member of FWBNW?

Anyone can become a member of FWBNW. We only ask that
you: (1) be fair in recording the information, (2) be
respectful of others, (3) do not attack anyone, thing,
agency, group or business, etc., (4) do not attach your
own personal opinions to the information. We also ask
that you send the following information to us by
          FIDONET netmail (1:281/782).

               Your Real Name
               Your BBS Name
BBS telephone # (include Area Code)
               Address \
City ST \This information will not be given out

yourself, your BBS, your hobbies, and your life. This
will give us some information on our recorders and
their background. It will also help us find other areas
that we are not currently covering.

SERVICES

     What services do we provide?

We are the home of FWBNW Echo (1ST_WATCH), home of
FWBNW's Sysop Echo (1st_W_Sysop) and in the future, as
sysop's join, we hope to add more echo's.

We offer a listing of information, (FWBNW_ART.LST)
sorted by topic, from newspaper and magazine articles,
and other sources which have reported rights viola-
tions. In addition some of these articles may be F'REQ,
it may not be the full article, but it will contain
enough information to find the article in the original
          source.

What services would I be required to provide as a member?

We ask that you send us, however often you like (but at
least once a month), a list of articles from Magazines,
Newspapers, and other sources which have a topic of
rights violations. The text file should look like this:

                    Example:

Date 3/1/91

We will also need BBS to act as Distributors, they will
be required to provide a space on their system for the
          1st_Watch echo, 1st_W_Sysop echo, FWBNW_ART.LST, and
other information which is sent to them for distribu-
tion. As a Distributor, you must be: Continuous Mail
capable, be able to handle 2400b calls, and be willing
to allow feed from your system to those who are less
          than 2400 in your area.
